MINERVA MCGONAGALL: 28 March, 1942

Grandmother,

We are having a dance here at Hogwarts at the end of next month, as I think Aunt Fortuna probably told you. I think the Headmaster and professors want to distract us from the wars and such.

However, I am in need of dress robes for the event. Rather than having new ones made, I want to know if I wish to wear Mother's green dress robes with the family tartan trim.

I shall take excellent care of the gown and will ensure that the preservation charms are strong then return it to your care the next morning. I know I am taller than Mother was and all the other girls are but the lengthening charm is very simple and I have performed it numerous times especially during second year- bloody gro.

My love to you and Grandfather.
